profile

I don't see myself as a Designer, a Developer, or a Marketer, I see myself as a problem solver. Finding creative solutions to fixing or improving something is what I find most fulfilling. My insatiable desire to learn how to do it myself has led me to take on responsibilities and challenges others shied away from, such as building a "Swag Dispenser" or learning how to screen print and growing that product line. Simply put, I'm a doer.

No 1 The Swag Machine

Swag Machine

The Swag Machine was inspired from something the sales manager saw at the PPAI (Promotional Products Association International) Expo. We were planning a lunch and learn to show clients different ways to engage with their customers through promo products. The Swag Machine would become the center piece of this event. Users could choose from eight different moods and recieve one of a possible 18 different products, with some products being used for more than one mood. You can see its development and use here.

No 2 BSA Annual Report

BSA Annual Report

This annual report was one of my favorite projects. It won at both the Idaho Falls Advertising Federation and the Boise Advertising Federation. Designed to emmulate a vintage, hand-stitched leather book, the final report had a Japanese stab binding. The first half of the report is a detailed history of scouting, with the actual report portion in the back half. As an eagle scout, it was enjoyable to learn more about scouting while working on this report.

Open House

With the completion of the new Alphagraphics building, the owner wanted to hold an open house that demonstrated the enhanced capacity and production capabilities that came with the new equipment in the new location. The theme for the open house was paper airplanes. I carried this theme through a series of wooden signs that explained about the various pieces of equipment, floor graphics, apparel, game tables, a flyer that had instructions to cut and fold to make a paper plane, and even a balsa wood airplane. I won a Best of Show and a Daimond from the Idaho Falls Advertising Federation for my design work on this open house.

No 4 ISU Annual Report

ISU Annual Report

This annual report was themed around safety and security. Showing ISU Credit Union's Dedication to the security of their customer's money and data. Annual reports are a fun challenge because you have to find creative ways of making boring information interesting, while still being readable and understandable. I won a Daimond from the Idaho Falls Advertising Federation for my design work on this report.
